Andrew Oldham first appeared on the stage in the mid-90s as a writer and performer. His stage works include Dossers, The Charlie Manson Room and Mockingbird featuring Amanda Healer (pictured). He performed poetry, music (The Wok Song, Scream at the Sky) and anecdotes under the guises of Bongo Sherbert & The Electrified Yeti Wobblers, Shorten Moriarty and Irwell Holmes throughout the 90s ("A Poet and an astronaut" - Poets Get Paid). Bongo went onto perform poetry with the Wobblers at the poetry tent at Glastonbury before retiring ("His enthusiasm is contagious... sit up and take notice" - The Stage). Andrew went onto become the only Poet Laureate for Bolton and was the only writer to compere a stage at the BBC R1 Bolt Festival. In the late-90s he wrote for Flux magazine, interviewing bands and comedians, including Bill Bailey (pictured). He went on to contribute to The Big Issue in the North as a music and restaurant critic (cited as one of his most unusual jobs), The Guardian, Independent and BBC Radio/TV (BBC GMR & BBC North).

His first commissions where from 'Auntie' and the Contact theatre, and in 2000 he joined the team at BBC1 Drama Doctors. He moved into film in 2004, and has worked with the likes of Roshan Seth. In the same year, he penned the short feature, Divine Blonde (pictured) but was also battling against spinal and nerve damage which has left him with mobility problems. During the lowest parts of his illness he turned to journalism, fiction and poetry to keep him going. His fiction has appeared in anthologies, collections and magazines, and his media work Neuter, now features on the reading lists at several UK and US Universities.

In 2006-2007, Andrew returned to scriptwriting with an award for his feature film script, Resurrection and was long-listed for the Brave New Roles Award.
